Company history
Dr. Rainer was brought from Denver to Southwest Colorado in 1989 by Dr. Gerald Howe and Southwest Memorial Hospital. Then, in 1992, he established his independent surgical practice in downtown Cortez at Underwood's Plaza. From 1990 to 2002 Dr. Rainer also managed outreach clinics in Telluride, Norwood, and Naturita, Colorado. With the help of the local hospital, the practice recruited Dr. James Hanosh who worked with Dr. Rainer from 1994 to 1996. The office was moved "around the corner" in the same building in 2001 to make room for construction of Southwest Colorado Surgery Center. Through the years the practice has enjoyed the respect of local medical providers as well as our loyal patients. |
Nora Bell
Ms Nora joined the office in 1992 and has proven indispensable throughout the years. She is undoubtably a leader in office management, medical transcription and records, medical billings, insurance contract negotiations and has been an integral part of the success of the practice. Her dedication to this practice is second only to her devotion to her children and grandson. She has gained the respect of many other local practices by her willingness to share her knowledge and expertise freely. Kymberlee Hampton
The first smile you will encounter at Dr Rainer's office is that of Kymberlee. She is in charge of scheduling which is quite a challenge when dealing with the ever-changing commitments of a general surgeon. She has always been able to get patients seen at the earliest possible opportunity, maintaining an inspiring flexibility and showing genuine concern for the needs of our patients.
Anna Utley
The newest addition to our "office family" is Anna, the office nurse. Her job is to check the patients in, measure vital signs, and provide nursing education. Dr. Rainer appreciates her assistance in performing office procedures. Her presence has been a welcome relief to all.
